Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
The coverage of the Europa League Final and, in particular, Glasgow Rangers’ fans before, during and after Seville had been extraordinary.

It got me thinking whether they would be as time generous and sympathetic had it been West Ham in their place.

Emlyn Begley’s report on our defeat to Eintracht is a litany of negativity around not only the performance but the club in general.

This is consistent with the BBC’s apparent policy of negative reporting around our club.

Scott Mullen’s report on last night’s defeat for Rangers’ reflects much positivity around their performance, their fans (who were involved in City centre violence after the game) and the prospects for Rangers going forward.

I suppose part of my ire is with BBC bias in general, whether it’s sport, politics or news. Does anyone trust the BBC to deliver the truth?

BBC was once admired around the world for it's unbiased reporting now it's a load of gynocentric shite

I reckon you know very well that there is no anti WHU bias but just wanted to get away with another anti BBC thread. Hell, you even put (apparently) in brackets. What a mealy mouthed shit show of a rant.

The BBC are crap though and everyone hates them so this thread might prove popular.

Cough - are you saying that Rangers fans are a bunch of women?

Because I would agree.

City centre violence, where was that then?

I saw nothing and have heard nothing about it, not saying it didn't happen.

But was so calm after the game, everyone just looked fucked. Midnight, 36 during the day and a lot of drinking.. Don't think anyone had the energy

Well, on the day of the semi final second leg, apart from the Rangers love in on the BBC, there was a misty eyed love letter to Eintracht Frankfurt and their fans on the site, but at the same time absolutely fuck all to do with the game from a West Ham point of view. I think that says a lot.

Rangers and Leicester were definitely the two darling teams while we were pretty much forgotten about.

Fraser, the violence was reported on BBC breakfast this morning, only mentioned Rangers fans.
There are plenty of other reports and images if you look online

West Ham are probably still viewed as working class whereas Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea aren’t.

The BBC loves punching down on working class gammon, Brexit, St George’s Cross flag owners, ironically paid for with the farcical poll tax licence fee still being extorted from the public, including the over 75s. Shame the licence fee isn’t voluntary, there probably wouldn’t be a BBC if it was.

Nagel 1:09 Thu May 19
Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
Forget about voluntary, if the licence fee was only compulsory for viewing their channels instead of any live TV then there probably wouldn’t be a BBC, or if there was it'd be on the level of Channel 5.

Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
Don’t pay your license fee and ignore all their letters. If they ever turn up, which they won’t, don’t let them in and shut the door.

Kaiser Zoso 1:16 Thu May 19
Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
Yeah, voluntary was the wrong word there, Nages

Subscription based is what we are talking about.

Lard - bizarre as the only fans I've seen playing up were the Germans, saw a whole crowd of them crossing a road at least a couple of thousand.. When the lights changed and a bus and a police van went they were all whacking them and booting them, the Spanish inside looked terrified..

But generally everyone has been really well behaved . Most were just broken after the game, physically and no doubt mentally.

Was in a stadium with maybe 15000 it was tough to see during the penalties, would have been devastating if it were us.

The 3k walk back to the centre was totally calm, they all seemed fine.

I find it incredulous that anyone actually pays the license fee, I’ve never paid it in my life and would happily stand in a court and tell them why

I do not think that the BBC is anti West Ham at all although It does suit some people’s paranoia to allege it to be the case.

About time too!

We've got a better claim on taxpayer/licence payer money because we won the World Cup - what the fuck have they ever won?

We should have first dibs on any spare dosh to pay for the upkeep of the Olympic Stadium - which, after all is a national treasure.
